Before a consultation you often need materials: a brief, a contract, a photo or a spreadsheet. Until now, clients sent them separately by email. Now they can attach them right when booking.
How it works
- For a meeting type, switch on Let invitees attach files to their booking in the Attachments section.
- On the booking page (in both the Quill and Rhythm themes, and in the embedded version too), the client adds files to the form.
- You find the files with the booking on your dashboard: a paperclip badge and download links on the meeting card, and a paperclip on the event in the calendar.
The files are also attached to the new-booking email and to the approval request when together they are under 15 MB. Otherwise the email contains a link to the dashboard. The client doesn't get their files back in an email.
Private and checked
- The files are private: only the signed-in organiser of the meeting can download them. Webhooks carry only the name, type and size, never a link.
- The content of each file is checked against its type, so a renamed file is refused. The files are not scanned by an antivirus, though.
- The files are deleted together with the meeting and with the account.
- In the calendar the booking is written to, the event description gets links to the attachments (downloadable after signing in).
The administrator sets the limits
The allowed file types (csv, docx, jpeg, jpg, md, ods, odt, pdf, png, pptx, svg, txt, webp, xlsx, zip; SVG is off by default), the file size (10 MB by default) and the number of files per booking (3 by default) are set by the instance administrator in Administration → General → Booking attachments. When you switch attachments on, you see the current limits right next to the switch.
Better events in your calendar
With this change we also improved the events written to your connected calendar. The title follows the Meeting Titles setting just like on the dashboard, and the description now contains the phone number, company and meeting type, so nothing gets lost.
You'll find the details in the documentation: Meeting Types and Managing Bookings.
