Until now, the booking widget embedded on your website showed the same as your public booking page. Now it is a place of its own: you decide what visitors see in it, how it looks, and whether it leads to your public page.

Your own choice of meeting types

Each meeting type has a new Show in embedded widget switch in its Visibility section. It works independently of the Hide from public booking page switch, so a type can be:

  • on your website only, say a consultation for clients who came to you through your company website,
  • on the public page only,
  • in both places,
  • or on the direct link you send only.

You can tell the types shown in the widget in the list by their Shown in widget badge. Existing types hidden from the public page stayed out of the widget too, so nothing changed on your website.

A widget for one meeting type

Want the calendar of one particular meeting straight on a service page? In Embed & Share, pick the type in the Meeting type field, or add data-meeting="slug" to the code. The widget opens straight on picking a time, with no list and no Back button.

A widget that fits your website

Inside the widget the booking page is simplified:

  • the top bar keeps only the logo, centred,
  • the language follows the visitor's browser, with English as the fallback,
  • the button that shows the full calendar is gone.

The new Background setting keeps your theme's background, makes it transparent so your website shows through, or uses any colour. Everything you set in Embed & Share is now saved, so you don't start from scratch on your next visit.

Hidden widget address (Pro)

The widget code contains your username, so anyone can work out the address of your public page from your website's source code. The hidden widget address solves that: instead of your name, the widget uses a random address in the form /_k7m2x9….

  • Only the types shown in the widget or hidden from the public page are reachable through it; types that are only on the public page, and the public calendar, are not.
  • It stays hidden after the booking too: the links in the emails to view, reschedule and cancel the meeting lead to the hidden address.
  • You can replace or remove the address at any time. The old address stops working at once.

Create the hidden address in Embed & Share → Security. In the cloud it is part of the Pro plan; on your own server it is available to everyone.

The guide Embedding on Your Website describes everything in detail.
