Over the past month, seven new versions of LockMyCal were released — from 1.12 up to the current 1.18.1. In addition to dozens of bug fixes, they brought a wealth of features requested by the community. Here is a curated overview of the most impactful additions.
Scheduling: More Control Over Your Time
Meeting Locations — Client Choice
You can now offer multiple locations simultaneously for any meeting type: in-person at an address, phone call, video conferencing, or custom location. The client picks what fits best during booking. For phone meetings, you specify who initiates the call — either publishing your number or asking for the client’s number.
Time Off & Holidays
Add vacation and personal days directly in Availability — without creating clutter on your calendar. If requested time off overlaps with existing confirmed bookings, the app alerts you immediately.
Daily Meeting Duration Limits
Define the maximum meeting hours you want to accept for each day of the week — for example, no more than two hours on Mondays. Once a new booking would exceed the limit, longer slots are automatically hidden.
Booking Approvals & Start Intervals
Set meetings to require manual host confirmation — with a configurable expiration window. You can also specify slot start intervals, offering start times every 15, 30, or 60 minutes independently of meeting length.
Integrations: New Calendars & Video Conferencing
- Jitsi Meet, kMeet, and Nextcloud Talk — three video integrations with automated room creation for every meeting. Ideal if you avoid sending calls through proprietary big-tech clouds.
- Microsoft Exchange (EWS) — connect on-premise corporate Exchange servers with write-back for confirmed bookings.
- ICS Calendar Subscriptions — subscribe to any public calendar feed (such as conference room schedules) for free/busy checking.
- Narrower Google Scopes — LockMyCal now requests strictly minimal permissions from Google Calendar (events and calendar lists only).
Sharing & Communication
- Direct Email Links — share booking pages, public calendars, or specific meeting types directly from the app with custom messages.
- Toggleable Public Calendar — public calendar settings now consolidated into a unified dashboard view.
- Multi-language Content — localize meeting type names, descriptions, welcome greetings, and custom form questions per language.
- Custom Welcome Copy — tailor headers, greetings, and instructions on your public booking page.
Account & Security
- Microsoft Account Sign-In — personal, work, and school accounts supported with email verification.
- Account Deletion — permanently erase your account and data directly from settings; upcoming meetings are cancelled and attendees notified.
- Hardened Authentication — forms prevent email enumeration, and new sessions securely terminate stale logins.
- Security Audit Logs — available for self-hosted instance administrators.
And many small things
Enhanced accessibility with WCAG AA button contrast, emails consistently sent in the recipient’s language, improved CalDAV and Outlook reliability, sync error alerts, and full dark mode across the dashboard.
