Google Meet, Teams, and Zoom are convenient, but every client conversation routes through the infrastructure of a large tech corporation. When conducting confidential consultations in healthcare, legal, or finance, hosting video calls on your own infrastructure ensures complete privacy. LockMyCal supports three dedicated self-hosted solutions — automatically provisioning dedicated meeting rooms for every appointment.
Why Run Your Own Video Server
- Privacy & Sovereignty — conversations never pass through external clouds, keeping data strictly under your control.
- No Licensing Costs or Call Limits — zero per-seat subscription fees and no artificial 40-minute timeouts.
- Frictionless Guest Experience — attendees join with a single click in their browser without registering an account.

Jitsi Meet
Jitsi Meet is the premier open-source video conferencing solution. LockMyCal creates a private room on your server for each booking.
Setup: Under Integrations → Video, select Jitsi Meet and enter your server URL (e.g. https://meet.yourdomain.com). If your deployment requires JWT, configure App ID and App Secret — links will automatically include a signed token valid until four hours after the call start time.
Nextcloud Talk
Already running Nextcloud? Your private video conferencing is ready out of the box. LockMyCal creates a dedicated public Talk conversation for each booking:
- Guests join without accounts by simply entering their name.
- A waiting lobby unlocks automatically at the scheduled start time.
- The organizer starts the meeting directly from their authenticated Nextcloud session.
- Rescheduled bookings rename and adjust the conversation; cancellations delete the room, and finished meetings clean up automatically.
Setup: Generate an App Password in Nextcloud (Settings → Security → Devices & sessions), then enter your server URL, username, and app password under Integrations → Video → Nextcloud Talk.
MiroTalk P2P
MiroTalk is an ultra-lightweight WebRTC peer-to-peer solution that runs smoothly in Docker. In Integrations → Video → MiroTalk, provide your server URL and configured API key.
Bonus: kMeet with Zero Configuration
Looking for a European provider without managing your own server? kMeet by Swiss hoster Infomaniak works out of the box with zero configuration — LockMyCal generates rooms on kmeet.infomaniak.com for each booking.
Assigning Video Services to Meeting Types
- Connect your preferred provider in Integrations → Video.
- Under Meeting Types, set the location to Video and select your provider.
- Done — meeting links are automatically generated and attached to confirmation emails, calendar invites, and appointment records.
Tip: You can offer multiple location choices on a single meeting type — such as both video and in-person — allowing clients to select their preference.
